Correlation between fathom length and adult body height

People assume that body height of adult is the same as that of fathom lentgth, but it does not hold absolultely. However, the variance is realtively samll.

And therefore a correlation for both variables will be found i.e., fathom (X) as independent variable while the body height (Y) is dependent. In this research, sample is taken from studentss of Medical Faculty at North Sumatera University of Semester III. Comprising of 99 students - 73 males and 26 females from some ethnics. Based on data gained (table 2). The value of correlation coefficient is determined r = 0.89. This indicates that there is a very significant correlation between fathom length and body height of the adults. Then by using regression equation formula the body height of adults can be predicted based on fathom length.
