Abstract

An autopsy was performed on a 60-year-old male who died at GMCH-32, Chandigarh with alleged history of ingestion of some acid & or alcohol after surviving for two days. Some of the findings were pointing towards Sulphuric Acid ingestion while others favored Nitric Acid consumption. Even the viscera which were sent for toxicological examination to Forensic Science Laboratory denied presence of any corrosive or alcohol in it; thereby creating more confusion rather than settling the issue. The clinical course alongwith interesting postmortem findings observed in the instant case are being discussed with help of photographic details.
