Fifty blood stains prepared on cotton cloth and exposed to smoke for a varied length of time (15,30,45,60 minutes) were analysed for the ABO (H) antigen and EsD isoenzyme typing. The results of exposed stains gave similar type of results as in case of nonexposed stain and all the stains could be correctly typed for ABO (H) and EsD isoenzyme. It is observed that the exposure of blood stains to smoke for a short period (1 hour) did not influence the results for ABO (H) and EsD typing.
