Accidental hanging – A case report

Abstract

A 47 year old male was admitted to hospital with history of Accidental Hanging in semiconscious state. He was treated for three days. He was drowsy initially and than was conscious few hours followed by drowsiness, respiratory distress. He was on ventilation before death Postmortem examination revealed hypoxic changes in brain and Pulmonary edema. Cause of death was opined as Asphyxia as a result of Pulmonary edema consequent to Hanging.
