Abstract

After the age of 25 years, the physical changes are very variable and fusion of the long bones is complete. In such cases dental study using Gustafson's method provides important and fairly constant evidence for estimation of age. Here 70 cases of different age group and of different gender are studied by using incisors (I) and canines (C). The average age difference between known and estimated age in this study is ± 3.5143 years. Younger the age, lesser is the age difference. Anterior teeth give better results as compared to the lateral one. Sex of the case has no effect on Gustafson's method.
