Abstract

Discriminant function analysis method was used to find out the bisexual and bilateral variations in the talus bone. Talus bone of 50 males and 50 females were studied, five discriminant functions were generated of which Body Height gave the highest accuracy followed by Maximum Length, Maximum Width, Maximum width of the trochlea, Maximum length of the trochlea. Significant male preponderance of all the measurements in talus of either side was found. Bilateral variations in both the sexes were present but were statistically insignificant.
