Abstract

Gun toys are popular among children and used by them without realizing the serious consequences. A case of right sided pneumothorax secondary to the batter of an air gun plastic pellet observed in a healthy 28 year old thin built male, who was resuscitated successfully is presented to create awareness among public, professionals, practitioners, and physicians working in emergency room as well as policy makers. The probable mechanisms for such injury are described. The need for regulations and safety standards for gun toys are stressed.
