Abstract

We herein report the case of a child accidentally hanged and found in kneel-down position while playing with a rope which was hung from a wall at a low level, in a room. He was brought to pediatric emergency in an unconscious state and managed aggressively. After four days of hospital stay, he was discharged with complete neurological recovery. We review the literature regarding the epidemiology and outcome predictors of near hanging.
