Abstract

Road traffic, Vehicular Accidents, ranks third among in various causes of death due to diseases all over world. (W.H.O.1980). In vehicular accidents, recently, percentage of two wheeler accidents rises high than car. Two wheeler vehicles consists of Motorcycle, Scooter, Kinetic scooters etc.

In this research paper; study of regional injury patterns of motorcyclist, scooterist accidents are done. The study is carried out at Forensic Medicine and Toxicology. Government Medical College, Nagpur, year 2000 to 2001. The 137 Postmortem cases due to Two Wheeler Vehicular Accidents are selected and studied.

Out of 137 fatalities, males were 130 and females 07. Young adult age group 20–30 years and 30–40 years were predominantly involved in it.

Head Injury is a main cause of death in this study followed by Chest Trauma and Polytrauma.

Helmet is essential to wear by Motorcyclist and Scooterist to rescue oneself from head injuries particularly in low speed accidents and to protect probably in high speed accidents.
