Abstract

The death occurring within 24 hour from the onset of symptom was considered as sudden death. About 45–50% sudden deaths are due to cardiovascular diseases. Pancarditis also called perimyoendocarditis, is an inflammation of the entire heart. We have presented a case of 28years oldfemale was brought to Govt. medical college and hospital Miraj with history of chest pain at home and past history revealed intermittent fever since few days, she was declared dead on arrival in emergency dept. The current case was diagnosed as a case of pancarditis on gross and histopathological examination changes autopsy and presented here considering the rarity of the disease condition and the mortality arising out of it. Very few cases were reported in literature in hospital set up and the cases diagnosed during autopsy are almost negligible. The aim is also to highlight the presentation of disease, as most reported cases are sporadic and the etiology is not completely understood so early suspicion of case, diagnosis and prompt treatment may help to save the precious life.
