Abstract

Science keeps on advancing day by day and one of its excellent examples is Medical Science, where, once the field of General Medicine/General Surgery was sufficient to deal with all diseases and pathological conditions of the body, but now we all know that with the development of super-specialization in many fields, the horizon of medical practice has widened beyond imagination. Forensic Medicine is also a part of Medical Science which is the application of knowledge of medicine and allied subjects to law for the administration of justice. Many consider it as a specialized subject on its own, without the need for super specialization in its various branches like Forensic Toxicology, Medical Jurisprudence, Clinical Forensic Medicine, Forensic Pathology, etc. Starting of super specialization in Medical & Forensic Toxicology has paved way for such super specialization in the other fields of this subject. In this review paper, the authors discuss the possible super-specializations that can be introduced in this vast and presently a very important field of Medical Science. These include DM in Forensic Pathology, DM in Forensic Toxicology, DM in Medical Jurisprudence, etc.
