Floods are known to affect the socio-economic status of dairy farmers by severely impacting their asset possession, fodder availability, and farm power resources. The research study was conducted during 2021– 2022 in Belgaum district of North Karnataka to identify the factor loadings of variables and their contribution to variations in the socio-economic status of dairy farmers using the factor analysis method. A total of 60 respondents were selected from the flood-affected district through purposive random sampling. Data were collected using the personal interview method. The results revealed that the first and second components together explained 34.56% of the variation, while all five components together explained 67.68% of the variation. The factor analysis yielded eigenvalues of 2.52, 1.96, 1.83, 1.41, and 1.06 for the five principal components, respectively.
