Abstract

The 21st century is witnessing a computer revolution in which information processing and retrieval is being reliably done at an incredible speed. Computers are used for storing, analysing and distributing information of all kinds including words, numbers, pictures, illustrations, sounds and movies. Computer aided knowledge dissemination mechanism helps to reach the unreached and foster new voice and new leaders. Keeping this factor in mind a farmer friendly Interactive Multimedia Compact Disc (IMCD) was developed on organic farming practices in paddy and farmers perception about IMCD was assessed. The study was taken up in Thiruvannamalai district of Tamil Nadu state. A total sample size of 80 paddy growing farmers was selected. The results indicated that the entire majority of farmers (65%)was highly satisfied about the content in IMCD.
