Abstract

With the advancement of communication technology during the last decade, the media exposure has grown exponentially. In the present day society it would be hard to imagine a world without media. Being a part of our routine life, media coexists within our family environment and like mirrors they generally reflect each other. While a subtle interaction is taking place, the question remain show is media, particularly social media, influencing our familial relationships? Does media reshape such relationships, does it act in blurring the traditional social relationships or does it pave way for a new system of relations? These are some of the questions that the present paper would like to focus particularly in Indian context.
