Abstract

The help in understanding the differences in the extent and causes ofpoverty among the religious groups. One of the unique features of India’s demography is its immense religious diversity. Every conceivable religion is part of her demographic composition. India is home to numerous religious including Buddhism, Hinduism, Jainism, Sikhism, Islam, Christianity, and Zoroastrianism, among others. The factors that the study included to explain the persistence of poverty include ownership of assets such as agricultural land and private enterprises, employment, and regular salaried employment and education. The study is hugely based on secondary data available on various reliable sources and used descriptive statistics and logit model for the analysis.
