Abstract

This research paper is a study on work-life balance and how organisations can make structural changes for management of work-life balance. Now-a-days younger professionals aren’t just looking for jobs, but also for a better quality of life - and are tailoring their careers accordingly. It has been seen, there has been a shift in the workplace, as a result of advances in technology, as “increasingly sophisticated and affordable technologies have made it more feasible for employees to keep contact with work”. This blurred boundary of work and life has created a need to have a good work-life balance. This paper is a study on the pivot components for a good work-life balance. The focus is on the strategies for a work-life balance like telecommuting and flexi working policy. It also deals with, how poor work-life balance can be a major source of stress, which forces us to deviate from normal functioning. At last it suggests tips to reclaim control and to have good work-life balance.
