Abstract

E-waste management practices followed in developed countries are far better as compare to developing countries. So considering developed countries’ e-waste management practices benchmark one of the IT organizations e-waste management practices were compared. Developing countries need to improve lot to manage the e-waste effectively. This paper presents the case study of one of the top IT organizations (HCL Technologies). The main objective of the case study was to understand the process of e- Waste management in an organization. One software industry was selected for the study. Comparison of e-Waste management practices of that organization is done with practices followed in the development countries’ organizations (benchmark practices). During comparison of e-Waste management practices in developed countries (benchmark practices) with HCL Technologies, it is found that practices followed in developed countries are better as compared to practices followed in HCL Technologies.
