A novel approach of students attendance system using rfid and biometric: An overview

The student attendance is an important activity of any Educational Institution. The administration of attendance is important for students as well as institution. The performance of students depends upon the students attending the classes in School or Institute. There are different methods of taking attendance firstly; students are called by names by the subject faculty. Secondly, the students signed the sheet of paper in the class. Both methods of taking attendance system is time consuming and inefficient. This method of taking attendance leads to time wastage of faculty and students. While taking attendance, sometimes, students may forgot to write down their names on the attendance list or students writing the names on behalf of other students who are not physically present in the class. Also, the attendance sheets may get misplaced. Hence, there is a necessity for the administrator of Schools and Institutions to develop the computer-based student attendance management system which will help out the faculty for maintaining attendance of students. In this paper, we propose the combination of Biometric and RFID Based Attendance System for the schools and institutions which provides the functionalities of taking attendance of enrollment students in institution. Taking attendance online and making details available for eligibility of a student to sit for an examination.
