Abstract

Seventeen genotypes of strawberry were evaluated to determine the nature of association among different yield contributing attributes and their direct and indirect contribution towards yield. Maximum positive significant correlation of yield was observed with berry width followed by number of achenes per fruit, berry length and number of flowers per plant. Path coefficient analysis revealed that fruit width had highest direct positive contribution towards fruit yield per plant followed by number of flowers per plant. These important traits may be considered in selection programme for the further improvement of yield in strawberry.
