Abstract

The farmers’ club programme has completed three decades since its inception in 1982, but no systematic effort has been made to evaluate its real impact. In order to know the impact of the programme a study was conducted in Almora district of Uttarakhand, based on information collected from 80 farmers residing in villages falling under four farmers’ clubs of two selected blocks of the district, by using regression and descriptive analysis. The findings of the study show that farmers’ club programme has enabled the farmers to improve their production, productivity and income. The involvement of farmers in farmers’ club has also improved the technology adoption and cultural practices. The programme has been helpful in improving the on-farm income of farmers.
