Abstract

Genetic distance was estimated among 22 genotypes of upland paddy for 11 quantitative characters. The highest genotypic coefficient of variability and phenotypic coefficient of variability were observed for total biological yield/plant, grain yield/plant, straw yield/plant, number of branches/panicle and number of fertile florets/panicle. The highest heritability was estimates for days to maturity, 1000 seed weight and days to 50% flowering. The genetic advance percentage of mean were higher for total biological yield/plant, straw yield/plant and seed yield/plant might be useful for further breeding programme.
