Shanxi-Nanyang-Jingmen UHV AC power transmission pilot project is the beginning of UHV power transmission projects of China. Xiangjiaba-shanghai ±800kV UHV DC transmission pilot project is the first super capacity UHV DC power transmission project of China. The successful development of UHVAC transformers and UHV converter transformers has greatly exalted core competencies of electrical equipments manufacturing industry. It lays the basis for launching a large scale following-up UHV power transmission project. The characters of various UHV transformers’ parameters, structure, test and operation have been analyzed in this paper. The experience of UHV transformers has been summarized.
