Abstract

Circuit Breakers (CBs) represent one of the most critical elements in the power system. It is used to disconnect the circuit during high current flow as compared to normal operating conditions or short-circuit current. Circuit Breaker Switching depends on the type of load. During the switching operation, switching transients may occur which can be minimized by a proper method. There are various factors on which circuit breaker switching is dependent like arcing time, closing time and opening time etc.
