Digital tagging system

The Lock Out and Tag Out (LOTO) process is a critical safety procedure in organizations, including Tata Power Distribution, aimed at ensuring the safety and health of employees. However, traditional paper-based LOTO tags present challenges such as paper waste, difficulty in record management, and susceptibility to damage. This paper introduces a Digital Tagging System that utilizes QR code-based reusable tags, eliminating the need for paper tags and streamlining the tagging process.

The system integrates with mobile based Saamarthya Application and SAP PM module, providing easy access to tag information and enabling efficient record-keeping. The implementation of acrylic-based tags and digitalization significantly reduces efforts, enhances data quality and accuracy, and improves overall safety behaviour. Furthermore, the system contributes to sustainability efforts by reducing paper waste and carbon footprint. This paper presents the design, benefits, and implementation of the Digital Tagging System, highlighting its positive impact on LOTO procedures in Tata Power Distribution.
