To study the relationship between cholelithiasis and ABO blood group. Method: 150 patients of ultrasonography proven cholelithiasis were confirm on operation. The ABO grouping and Rh typing of all the patients were done by standard agglutination technique and results were analysed Result: cholelithiasis is more common in female (88%) and age group of 31–40 yrs. has the maximum number of patients. Patients with blood group ‘O’ has maximum number (41.33%) followed blood group ‘A’ (30.76%). Conclusion: Patients with blood group ‘O’ has maximum number in our study. As the number of the patients in our study is too less, it cannot be concluded that blood group ‘O’ is a risk factor for cholelithiasis. But it has generated an area of interest for future research.
