The term accident has been defined as an occurrence in the sequence of events which usually produce unintended injury, death or property damage. Considering the increasing proportion, there was a theme by WHO on World Health Day on Road safety in 2004 slogan saying, “Road safety is no accident”.1 Head injury is a morbid state, resulting from gross or subtle structural changes in the scalp, skull and or the contents of the skull, produced by mechanical forces.2 This study was conducted to know the socio-demographic pattern of head injury victims of vehicular accidents in a tertiary care government hospital in Mumbai region.
