“An ailment not to be treated” to 21st century intervention, we have come a long way as far as management of cervical injury is concerned. Cervical spine has been the least explored area of research due its inaccessibility & positioning with vital structures. This autopsy based study on cervical injury mainly underlines its demographic study, type of injury, causes, treatment & survival rate which can help us understand cervical injury & its medical, social, economic & legal implications. It was observed that 40% of the cervical injury cases were menial workers belonging to the reproductive age group, 64% of which was caused due to road traffic accidents, which could be prevented by implementation of strategies at the primordial level in order to decrease the socio-economic burden of the country and society.
