Abstract

Fifty three taxa of fresh water Cyanophyceae were collected from different water bodies in and around Ahmednagar region Maharastra. These taxa belong to nineteen genera viz. Microcystis, Merismopedia, Dactylococcopsis, Gloecapsa, Chroococcus, Aphanocapsa, Gomphosphaeria, Spirulina, Arthrospira, Oscillatoria, Phormidium, Lyngbya, Anabaenopsis, Cylindrospermum, Nostoc, Anabaena, Nodularia, Aulosira, Gloeotrichia. All these taxa are being reported for the first time from the given area.
