Abstract

Rare desmids Heimansia pusilla (Hilse) Coesel, Cosmocladium saxonicum De Bary, Cosmarium curtum (Breb.) Ralfs, Cosmarium quadrifarium Lundell, Cosmarium regnellii Wille and Cosmarium mansangense W. & G.S. West, have been recorded for the first time from central and northern Indian water bodies, which are new additions to Indian algal flora.
