Abstract

Investigation on the genus Fissidens Hedw. reveals the occurrence of five species viz., F. diversifolius Mitt., F. virens Thwait. et Mitt., F. crenulatus Mitt, F. pulchellus Mitt. F sylvaticus Griff, belonging to family Fissidentaceae. The five species of genus Fissidens Hedw. viz., F. diversifolius Mitt., F virens Thwait. et Mitt., F crenulatus Mitt, F pulchellus Mitt. F sylvaticus Griff., of Kohima District, Nagaland has been studied for the first time.
