Abstract

Epidermal studies provide additional data in ascertaining the systematic position of disputed taxa when considered alongwith other characters. The present investigation deals with the foliar epidermal studies on selected species oflpomoea Linnv observed from fresh plant specimens. It has been revealed that the leaves of all the species show paracytic stomata. Of the 16 species investigated, 13 show eglandular and unbranched trichomes, where as remaining species are completely devoid of these.
