The Iskapalli lagoon in Nellore district harbors a pristine mangrove habitat at Ponnapudi which stands apart in the whole district in respect of mangrove diversity. True mangroves and mangrove associates and their status are enumerated. The effect of certain physico-chemical factors on the flora is studied. Anthropogenic factors affecting the habitat are mentioned.
