Abstract

Members of Cucurbitaceae are very commonly found in Mumbai and the adjoining areas. 15 members of the family were taken up for the present study. Two basic types of venation were observed namely Pinnate type in 8 members and Basal Marginal Actinodromous type in 7 members. In the Pinnate type of venation, Mixed Craspedodromous and Camptodromous type were seen. In Camptodromous type, Brochidodromous and Cladodromous type of venation was further observed. Based on the angle of divergence and presence or absence of veinlets, a key was prepared to identify the genera and species.
