Taxonomic report of the genus Litsea in Western Ghats of Karnataka is defined. Twelve species of Litsea are revised in this work and all the 12 species are described. Correct nomenclature, brief morphological characters, flowering and fruiting time, availability of the species and ecological data are provided.
