Influence of carbon and nitrogen sources on production of territrem B by A. terreus was investigated. Glucose followed by sucrose, maltose and mannose supported maximum amount of territrem B production, while citric acid followed by succinic acid were poor carbon sources for production of territrem B. Potassium and sodium nitrite were responsible for maximum production of territrem B. On the other hand, ammonium salts and thiourea adversely affected the production of territrem B. No positive correlation could be observed between territrem B production and vegetative growth of A. terreus.
