Albugo is an important obligate parasitic fungus with 50 and above species of flowering plants causing disease known as white rust. It causes major yield loss depending upon the intensity of infection. A. candida(Pers.) Roussel is the most common biotrophic parasite infecting number of Brassicaceae members. White rust has become a major problem in Brassicaceae, Amaranthaceae, Convolvulaceae, Chenopodiaceae, Capparidaceae, Boraginaceae families and their related crops in many countries.
