Abstract

The quality of any aquatic body is dependent on various factors viz., geological pattern of region, nature of drainage pattern and various types of developmental activities. The major activities responsible for deteriorating the quality of water are washing, sewage discharge, agriculture and industrial effluents at certain points. Therefore, fifteen parameters viz., color, odor, turbidity, total solids (TS), total dissolved solids (TDS), total suspended solids (TSS), pH, Electrical Conductivity (EC), alkalinity, hardness, Dissolved Oxygen (DO), Chloride (Cl), Phosphate (P) and Nitrate (N) were analyzed to access the water quality and present scenario of Benikare reservoir from Kagal Tehsil.
