Estimation of wind velocities from the received narrow band signal is herculean task which is much contaminated by severe noise conditions of the MST radar which functions in the VHF band. The estimation of various wind components and validation is presented here using the designed Atmoslet using the GPS balloon data. Comparisons with the existing wavelets are also presented in the current work. The signal power, mean Doppler shift & variance are also computed based on moments which are useful for the computation of the wind velocities. The atmoslets exhibit superior performance in extracting the wind velocities over the existing wavelets.
