Abstract

The Semantic Web has attracted significant community professionals, institutes and companies, all are thinking that one day the Semantic Web will have a very big impact on life. There is still a long journey to the Semantic Web dream comes true. Our effort is to reduce information overload and usage of software agents effectively for the management of documents in enterprises. The major challenges in semantic web are the 1. Availability of content, 2. Ontology availability, development and evolution, 3. Scalability, 4. Multilingualism, 5.visualization to reduce information overload, and 6. Stability of Semantic Web languages. The reality of semantics along with existing problems, challenges and possible solutions were discussed. Few real world examples were given in this paper. Also economic impact is also considered.
