The main aim of our paper is to illustrate the computing technology that has a great future-DNA COMPUTING. Our paper gives an overview of the art of DNA computing achievements as of today, introduction to the basic structure of DNA and DNA processing tools. DNA computing contributes new methods and approaches to solve either application or theoretical problems. It can be viewed as a ‘manifestation of an emerging new area of science ’which allows us to control the rapidly developing molecular world. This technology is in an infant stage and its implications are yet to be explored. DNA computing uses biological molecules which have a capacity of storing large amount of information and can perform operations like a computer through the deployment of enzymes and biological catalysts that act like software to execute desired operations, therefore it is the best appropriate alternative to overcome the silicon computer limitation. Finally, various stages in the development of its path and the expectations in the future are also discussed.
