Abstract

This paper proposes a Real-Time Uni-versity Bus Tracking Application based on Android based smart phone. This application enable for stu-dents, teachers and staffs to find out the location of the bus so that they won’t miss the bus and also for driv-ers to find out the pickup location of the students. There has a category option for student’s and driver’s and they select teacher, male student, female student or staff. This application widely used by the university students since Android smart phones have become common and affordable for all. It is a real time appli-cation as the current location of the users and bus is updated every moment in the form of latitude and longitude. The application also estimates the time re-quired to reach a particular stop on its route. The ap-plication uses client-server technology.
