Two-week old 80 chicks were randomly divided into two equal group of 40 chicks each. Group I chicks were kept as control while group II chicks were given lead acetate (200 ppm) via drinking water for 12 weeks. All the chicks were vaccinated with infectious bursal disease vaccine at day 18. Blood samples were taken from 5 birds of each group at 2 week intervals for ELISA and B-lymphocyte blastogenesis assay. The IBD vaccine induced humoral immune response was found to be decreased significantly in lead intoxicated chickens as compared to control.
