Present study was planned to investigate effect of Kamdhenu ark, a urine distillate of indigenous cow on common mastitogens. Results indicate that Kamdhenu ark cures the plasmids from Staphylococcus aureus and coagulase-negative Staphylococcus (CNS). It also inhibits deoxyribonuclease (DNAse) production by the isolates. Increased susceptibility of mastitogens towards antibiotics recorded in present study indicates that Kamdhenu ark increases efficacy of antibiotics. Present findings are of immense value as possibly can help to overcome the problem of multiple drug resistance among the mastitogens.
