Peste des petits ruminants (PPR) is an acute febrile viral disease of sheep and goats with great economic importance. In the state of Haryana these animals are being vaccinated with a lyophilized, tissue culture grown live attenuated PPR vaccine. In order to determine the immune response induced by the vaccine, post vaccinated sera samples of sheep and goats from six different districts of the state were monitored using c-ELISA kits. More than sixty per cent of sera samples revealed presence of protective titers of antibodies in the serum samples. The implications of these findings are discussed.
