The present investigation was conducted on lymphocytes isolated and tissue samples collected from thymus and bursa of Fabricius of chicks between day ‘0’ and day ‘28’ of post hatch life. Annexin-V binding assay was performed to detect apoptosis in lymphocyte smear and tissue section prepared from the organ at at weekly interval in the study period. The proportion of apoptotic cell was 93.333 ± 2.404 at day ‘0’ and 86.666 ± 6.359 at day ‘28’ for lymphocyte isolated from bursa of Fabricius while it was 91.333 ± 2.905 at day ‘0’ and 79.333 ± 4.807 at day ‘28’ for lymphocyte isolated from thymus. The result shows that the rate of apoptosis was more during first few week of development.
