The present paper highlighted Influence of treadmill exercise on different metabolites such as glucose, lactate, urea, creatinine, bilirubin, protein profile, triglycerides and cholesterol in different stages of exercise and sex (male and female) of German Shepherd dogs. Twelve dogs of either sex (6 males and 6 non pregnant females) were included in present study and subjected to treadmill exercise at the speed of 9 Km/hour. The blood samples were collected at control or per-exercise condition and at 20 minutes, 40 minutes and 60 minutes during the course of exercise. The mean ± SE concentrations of blood/plasma glucose, lactate, urea, creatinine, bilirubin, total protein, albumin, globulin, triglycerides and cholesterol in male and female (control) animals were measured as: glucose: 5.277 ± 0.014 and 5.267 ± 0.011 mmol/litre; lactate: 0.793 ± 0.021 and 0.823 ± 0.011 mmol/litre; urea: 5.092 ± 0.101 and 5.067 ± 0.145 mmol/litre; creatinine: 84.275 ± 0.437 and 73.961 ± 0.589 μmol/litre; bilirubin: 3.791 ± 0.317 and 5.216 ± 0.282 μmol/litre; total protein: 67.80 ± 0.181 and 65.183 ± 0.128 gm/litre; albumin: 36.083 ± 0.151 and 34.467 ± 0.099 gm/litre; globulin: 31.717 ± 0.075 and 30.717 ± 0.091 gm/litre; triglycerides: 1.080 ± 0.005 and 1.082 ± 0.005 mmol/litre and cholesterol: 5.654 ± 0.006 and 5.760 ± 0.017 mmol/litre, respectively. The blood/plasma metabolites, glucose, lactate, creatinine and protein profile showed significant (P ≤ 0.01) increasing trend with advancement of exercise.
