Ayurveda refers to Tinospora cordifolia as ‘Amrita’ or the ‘Nectar of Immortality’. Tinospora cordifolia (Guduchi), a rasayana, is widely used in the Ayurvedic system of medicine as an anti-inflammatory, anti-arthritic, antiallergic, anti-malarial and antidiabetic drug. It is a large, glabrous, deciduous climbing shrub belonging to the family Menispermaceae. In the present study hydromethanolic extract of stem of Tinospora cordifolia (TCE) was evaluated through lymphocytes proliferation assay (LPA) to explore its immunomodulatory potential. There was significant increase in B and T cell proliferation in TCE treated cells as compared to control.
