Abstract

The current investigation deals with the isolation of Enterococcus faecalis from cases of recurrent mastitis in a cattle farm. The isolates were was found to be resistant to almost all the commonly available antibiotics available in the field except one with which the condition was treated successfully. However, the pattern of resistance observed in the study gives an alarming situation since enterococci are environmental pathogens and are extremely important because of their ability to harbour antibiotic resistance genes.
