Brucellosis is one of the most important infectious diseases affecting a range of animals including marine animals and humans. Confirmatory diagnosis of the disease does not rely on a single test but involves battery of tests. The choice of the test also depends upon the area and purpose of the study. This review discusses the range of conventional methods and newer trends in the Brucella diagnostics of animals and humans.
