Tumours have emerged as alarming concern in our country leading to marked mortality among cattle and buffaloes. Despite the relatively short lifespan of most animals, neoplasia is an important concern for many veterinary practitioners, diagnosticians and researchers. Tumour diagnosis and treatment for individual animals is becoming an increasingly prominent part of the large animal practices. Infectious and environmental causes of cancer can have a major impact on herd health. The present paper is an attempt to provide details from the available literature during 1990 to 2017 regarding pattern, occurrence and types of tumours in cattle and buffaloes in India along with some diagnostic approaches.
